Buscou-se elucidar como problema saber quais são os processos referentes ao conhecimento emocional dos profissionais de uma ILPI. Os objetivos específicos buscaram alcançar: 1 – identificar o perfil emocional dos profissionais de uma ILPI; 2 – analisar formas do conhecimento emocional dos profissionais da entidade asilar e 3 – implementar os resultados por meio de um estudo de caso em uma ILPI. The main question was known what are the processes related to the emotional knowledge from workers in a LTCE. For this purpose, the study was divided in three steps: 1 - identify the emotional profile of workers in a LTCE; 2 – analyse what is the emotional knowledge of that workers; 3 – introduce the results through a case study. As a method, a qualitative research was appliedusing documental research and personal interview. To apply the interview, workers who are working in the institution between one and fifteen years were selected. The main conclusions were: the workers must be an emotionally balanced person, with high level of empathy, personal identification with the elderly and be able to love.
