Resultados e Discussão: Foram selecionados 14 artigos pertinentes à temática. Foram observados como fatores que têm contribuído para o aumento da vulnerabilidade do idoso à infecção por HIV a manutenção da prática sexual ativa e de conteúdos pertinentes a sexualidade, sendo um assunto ainda negligenciado por parte dos profissionais de saúde Conclusão: Com este estudo foi possível tecer considerações acerca das causas da vulnerabilidade do idoso frente à contaminação pelo Vírus da Imunodeficiência Adquirida (HIV). This syndrome has been constantly neglected with regard to the elderly population, resulting in a late diagnosis and the greater vulnerability of this population. Objective: To identify the vulnerability factors to which the elderly are susceptible to HIV. Method: It was a bibliographical review of the integrative type in the databases indexed to the Virtual Health Library (VHL) and Databases and Nursing (BDENF), analyzing publications from 2011 to 2017 in Portuguese and English. Results and Discussion: We selected 14 articles relevant to the topic.
