Para os próximos 20 anos (até 2030) as expectativas são de que haja 216.410.030 brasileiros e que 18,7% deles, ou seja, pouco mais de 40.000.000 tenham 60 anos ou mais. Atualmente, os avanços científicos que permitem o prolongamento da vida, são as formas mais comuns para encobrir o processo de envelhecer e morrer.
