A Educação Ambiental (EA) é uma importante ferramenta para reverter esse quadro, pois permite a compreensão complexa do meio ambiente e o reconhecimento das inter-relações existentes entre os seus diversos elementos. O presente trabalho objetivou mediar a apropriação de técnicas novas de modificação de ambientes como a Jardinagem de Guerrilha para despertar nos alunos uma relação mais participativa na construção e cuidado com o ambiente urbano em âmbito escolar e nos espaços públicos.Seguiu-se uma metodologia de pesquisa de natureza descritiva, com abordagem qualitativa. A população foi constituída pelos estudantes do ensino fundamental I e II da Escola Municipal Professora Sinhazinha na cidade de Caruaru-PE. Os resultados da investigação agendam uma reflexão importante sobre os modelos de efetivação das práticas de EA e suas consequências, se trabalhada de maneira efetiva, integrada e cotidiana as vivencias do aluno, o inserido como agente ativo nos processos de construção e preservação do ambiente em que está inserido pode resultar em mudanças de atitudes e incorporação de práticas sustentáveis. Quando vivenciada de forma prática propicia ao educando a oportunidade de tornar-se multiplicador de atitudes ecologicamente corretas. Environmental Education (EE) is an important tool to reverse this situation, because it allows the complex understanding of the environment and the recognition of existing inter-relationships between its various elements. This study aimed to mediate the appropriation of new techniques for modifying environments such as Guerrilla Gardening to awaken in students a more participatory relationship noa construction and care of the urban environment in the school setting and in the public spaces. Followed up a research methodology descriptive in nature, with a qualitative approach. The population was comprised of middle school students of the Escola Municipal Professora Sinhazinha in Caruaru-PE. Research results schedule an important reflection on the models of effective practices of EE and its consequences, if crafted of effective, integrated and daily livings way the student, inserted it as an active agent in the process of building and preserving the environment inserted this can result in changes in attitudes and incorporation of sustainable practices.
